

BioImaging Society (BIS), India was established in January 2026 and is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, as amended by the Government of Maharashtra, and the Maharashtra Public Trusts Act, 1950. The registration number is MAH/47/2026. The Society is headquartered at IISER Pune, Maharashtra, India.
Objectives:
The BIS, India, aims to advance the standards, reach, and impact of bioimaging research in the country by promoting the exchange of knowledge in microscopy and imaging sciences, fostering innovation, and encouraging collaboration across disciplines. The Society also seeks to facilitate the sharing of infrastructure, technical expertise, and best practices within the scientific community, while contributing to the development of a highly skilled and competent microscopy workforce across India.
India BioImaging is a prominent initiative by the BIS, India, towards these goals.
